The Spring Drop

May 2024

Shape.

My spring vessels are soft in shape. They’re comforting this way and the series of earthen glazes and soft pastels are intended to mimic nature and the muddy awakening of spring as it transforms the world from barren to bloom. They’re easy to look at, touch, and hold.

Color.

Though based in California, my roots started in Maine where spring is a messy endeavor. The ground is wet, moss bright, and trees barren until the very end of May. These colors, along with the pastels of April tulips, hyacinths, and others will come together to create something harmonious, warm, and cheerful.

Design.

While not all pieces feature my signature sgraffito carvings, many pieces will be delicately carved with sweet pea, various forest creatures, and flowers. A handful of gallery pieces will also be available, though all of these sell out quickly and may be missing from the shop before the day is over.
