XL Stoneware Groggy Rabbit Bowl Handcarved
A six-hour carving session ended in this phenomenal, carved bowl. Each layer represents a component of self by the artist.
The first carvings are bear tracks for her father, then owl eyes for her partner, and moose tracks for her brother. Partridge feathers, for her mother, keep her (the rabbit) warm.
Hand carved without stencils or any aids, this lovely ceramic serving bowl is foodsafe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.
The interior is finished with a glossy clear and the exterior with a unique. Matte sage.
This bowl is what we call a “Gallery Piece.” It is the artistic signature of Kay, who also makes the more accessible designs present in the shop. Kay occasionally crafts more detailed, narrative work, such as this one. Gallery Pieces are one-of-a-kind and are considered collector’s items. This one does sadly have a crack in the base from a drying process. It does not affect the functionality of the bowl, but the price has been marked down to reflect the small blemish.
