Summer blooms is a pattern I created to show some of the early-season flowers I used to pick with my mom. They take on a different life in every piece and my hope is that they reflect the whimsy and joy and childhood nostalgia we could all use a little more of. Especially when missing our moms.
Each flower is painting in place, then black is carefully applied around each flower. Once the paint has set, I carve each line before carving away the background for a deeply textured piece. Each mug takes nearly two hours to carve!
Note! All of our items are completely handmade. Each item shows off the human touches! Carved pieces are all carved, free-hand, so no two designs are ever the same. Items may have slight variances in dimensions and appearance because of this beautiful, handmade impact.
